Jeet Kune Do
Jeet Kune Do is a combination of many different styles of fighting. JKD’s origin is found in a traditional Kung Fu close range art called Wing Chun. Adding to the techniques from Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do utilizes quick and effective striking from modern style kickboxing, fencing footwork, “foul tactics” and is drilled with the intent to prepare students for the “real life” stress of an actual street self-defense scenario. Combining these arts into one solid training regimen, JKD is known to be the world’s first mixed martial art.
Developed by the late Bruce Lee, students are encouraged to “think outside of the box” and find their own personal style of expressing themselves through the execution of techniques and the style in which they use defenses.
In a class setting you will learn many different techniques on how to defend against a wide range of different situations that one might encounter from an attacker. You will learn how to strike, grapple, choke, escape and be more aware.
At the same time you will have fun breaking a sweat and getting into shape! Kickboxing and Martial Arts is a full body/core exercise and you will the benefits immediately!
